Re-creating Your World with Naturalist Sean Washington

June 24, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Re-creating Your World: Returning Awe to Your Home Garden.

Are you missing the simple days of beautiful and fascinating animals, like the horned lizard, being a part of your home garden? Come and hear from Naturalist and Science Communicator Sean Washington as he tells us what we can do, to bring these and other wildlife back into our yards. He will tell us about the “backyard/ garden/ guerilla conservation movement”, to not only restore wildlife, but also revive lost memories and spark lasting ones for the future. Sounds exciting!

More about Sean:

Sean is currently employed by Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department as a Program Specialist and Naturalist at Martin Park Nature Center where he is in charge of the creation and implementation of programs, helps with the parks social media and advertisement. He also helps design and lay out the land management plans they have to revitalize meadows and tracts of woodland to their more biodiverse natural states.

Sean is a science communicator, environmental educator at heart and an ecologist in practice. Learning about and teaching others about native habitats and wildlife is what he lives for. Sean enjoys hiking, wildlife photography, birding, and sharing information about the things he finds of interest.

Please join us. Doors open at 6:30. Bring your change and small bills and browse our green table for garden related items donated by members and others in attendance.
