Johnson-Su Composting with John Wilson

August 26, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Join us on August 26th for a presentation on how to make and use Johnson-Su Compost with John Wilson.

John’s bio:

I was born in 1945 which makes me older than dirt now. After being discharged from the Army in 1968 I found a box of old Organic Gardening and Farming magazines. I’ve been hooked on gardening the organic way ever sense. In my life I have gardened in San Diego (with a salt distilling pond on the other side of our fence.), Napa California, Spokane Washington, and in Weatherford and Moore Oklahoma. I’ve probably made enough compost to fill a large barn and have it overflowing. I’ve read enough books on gardening to fill my bedroom. I wrote a organic gardening column for my local paper in San Diego and wrote timely articles for the webpage of my local garden club in Bay Point, Ca. And though I have wanted to become a Master Gardener I’ve always been to far from where the classes were being given, the classes filled, or otherwise already committed at the time of the classes. 10 years ago I attended a grafting workshop sponsored by the California Rare Fruit Growers and began grafting fruit trees.

John’s latest endeavor is in producing Johnson-Su Compost. Come learn more and you might go home with a free sample!

Doors open at 6:30. Presentation begins at 7:00. Door prizes always follow the presentation.

Event is free and open to the public. Please join us.

  1. I’ve been attending OOGA for the last 6 years and always enjoy the presentations. I’ve heard John speak in the past and am looking forward to hearing from him again.
